There are a lot of factors when it comes to sharing world data. ![]() I have no idea about some other games systems. That game Grounded has some way of sharing gameworlds doesn't it? Its an indie game that went from early access to full release, but they've been able to implement some kind of world share system without having to run your pc on 24/7. Its running my PC 24/7 that I want to avoid. I seriously doubt the devs have any intent to run servers for people, especially considering the 10 client limit in the game. I wonder if you could run the server 24/7 on your PC and play the game through your xbox thingy? The software is available to run your own server. I realise I could just rent a server but would rather not have that cost when the xbox version laucnhes. Will be doubly so when a greater number of my friends who have xboxes jump on the game. One follow up, is there any changes planned re gameworld sharing or will that remain on personal servers as it is currently? It's kind of annoying that my friends can't just jump on my gameworld when I'm not about unless I leave my PC on which I'm hesitant to do. However, I would recommend choosing one platform and sticking to it (rather than switching back and forth continuously) in order to avoid conflicts with Cloud saves. The good thing about crossplay though is that it doesn't matter which you choose - you'll still be able to play with your friends regardless of whether you're all on console, or they're on console and you're on PC. Once again though, you should still choose either Game Pass or Steam, so that the two Cloud services don't try to conflict with each other. You will need to play it with PC Game Pass first though, to get the saves from your computer to the Xbox Cloud, before you can access them from your console (you can't go directly from Steam to Xbox). ![]() However, I would recommend choosing one platform and sticking to it (rather than switching back and forth continuously) in order to avoid conflicts with Cloud saves.Īs for getting your saves over to Xbox, this should also work as the two Game Passes share the same Cloud service. Within a month of its initial release on February 2, 2021, it amassed over 5 million copies sold, which is especially impressive considering the game had next to no pre-release buzz and released on only one platform. On a PC your saves will be stored in the same folder regardless of whether you're playing through Steam or with PC Game Pass, so you can theoretically easily switch over from one to the other. When it will leave early acess, we don't know, but the fact it's not hit 1.0 yet hasn't hindered its popularity. So far, no other console releases have been talked about by developer Iron Gate Studio or publisher Coffee Stain Publishing, but that's because the exclusivity period is active.įor those unfamiliar with the game, Valheim is a survival-sandbox game that is technically not out yet and currently in early access. From August 14 on, the game can come to not just PS4 and PS5, but hypothetically Nintendo Switch as well. ![]() This doesn't mean the game will immediately come to other consoles after this, but it could. According to the fine print of an official email from Microsoft, which was sent out to Xbox Game Pass subscribers (via Twisted Voxel), Xbox's exclusivity will end in six months, which is to say, it will expire on August 14.
